Social Enterprise London, in key partnerships, is developing SIMPLE, an impact assessment tool to understand how social enterprises can measure if they have made the kind of social impact they want to make:

Social IMPact measurement for Local Economies (SIMPLE) Programme

One of the major challenges facing social enterprise is communicating the social benefits they deliver. As opportunities increase for social enterprise to engage with private and public sector organisations, it has become necessary to find ways of translating this positive effect into demonstrable data.

Working in partnership with the South East of England Development Agency, The University of Brighton and Focus To Work C.I.C, SEL are co-ordinating the development of a tool that will enable social enterprises to assess and communicate the social aspects of their business. The SIMPLE programme combines top level academic research into the wide range of auditing, accounting and impact measurement tools available with professional, one-to-one training of social enterprises in the field. The training will focus on supporting organisations with the practical and operational aspects of implementing an impact measurement approach.

This programme is being delivered across the South East of England and is open to all social enterprises and voluntary organisations looking to become more socially enterprising in Oxfordshire. If you are interested in taking part in this programme and would like to find out more, please contact Robin Harris on 020 7022 1920 or at HYPERLINK "mailto:robin@sel.org.uk" robin@sel.org.uk.
