Our Methods

Fundamentally, we believe you have the most knowledge of your work and your organisation; we believe that our work with you will enable you to use your knowledge more effectively. Our methods are to teach what we know; our ideal outcome is for your organisation to be so effective you may never need our services again. Believe it or not, we do mean this. We don't want to leave your organisation or project without you understanding how you participated in its change and how you helped create the documents to support it.

Though in extreme circumstances, we will take information away and produce a document for you (Final report, funding application, for example), we significantly prefer to share knowledge with you and to support you to use frameworks which you can use again well after we’ve gone. We give you a process along with an end result and encourage you to participate as much as you can. Yet we know how busy you can be, and if necessary, you can just give us the brief and we can run with it. We help you to draw up a clear brief of what you want us to do and agree how we will approach it. We will give you a clear breakdown of costs and ensure an outcome that is workable for your organisation.

How much do we charge? That depends on a range of things, but what we do is charge out in 420 minute days and charge you by fifteen minute increments. So imagine our days might be £400 + VAT. Now consider the 5 minute phone call, the 20 minute email, the 30 minute document edit, the 45 minute meeting, etc, and in reality, that money accounts for a significant number of calendar days and a good relationship. Some of our clients have not quite managed a full day yet, though we've known them for over 12 months. And, if we agree a contract of say, 10 days, and we manage your work in only 9, we’ll only charge for 9. We believe in honest working relationships; we agree all fees up front and stick to them.
